Haven't Heard of Sustainable Science?!

After more than 1 year I have studied on my course which is Sustainable Science, I still found a lot of my friends and relatives can’t remember the course I study. Everytime the dialog will began like this:

Friends: What is the course you study, bro?
Me: Sustainable science.
Friends: Hah? What is that? About what?
Me: blah blah blah blah blah..

The name of my course..
Yes! The next thing is I will explain to everyone what I studied. Some speechless, some laughed and some feel pity about it. On the next meet the above dialog will start again and some even give the same reaction. LOL. At the same time I’m exhausted of explaining it again and again.

So, today this post will be on about my course. What I did is I surf through the internet and search info about my course. I type ‘sustainable science’ and many website pop out. But I still don’t understand why it does still remain unsung.  (I have to promote my course in this post)

First, the definition of sustainable science according to the Wikipedia is as elusive as the definition of "sustainability" or "sustainable development".

Understand?  If some understand those phrase above, he or she is beyond GODLIKE  :P

So I continue my search for the more precise and simple definition. I found it!

Development of industrial and natural resources that meets the energy needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs in a similar manner

I feel the above definition will be easier to be explained and understand.

My course name in shortform..
Moving on, I find that with definition is not enough. People still need to know what I am capable of. So I start searching again.

I found that actually sustainable science has been practice in Europe back 17 years ago. Nowadays sustainable science had been our lifestyle without us noticing. For example, practice of using paper bag. We didn’t notice the small action that we did actually promoting sustainable to the environment. We don’t need to become activists who demonstrate on the street with banner and eventually creating riot.

To conclude everything, my course is to bringing together society and workout the best way to save the environment from the worst and at the same time we continue our healthy lifestyle. (That's my definition. LOL) We know the world will come to the end 1 day without us noticing but we can at least slow it down for the future generation. (Definitely will not be 2012).
=)
